John Denver is a popular musician and singer who has touched a lot of people by his lyrics. Many of these have roots in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He fell in love Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. Denver's anthems of fame about Colorado have been a major influence on many to make the move to Colorado. G. Brown the curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame said the following: John Denver was by far one of the top artists who represented Colorado. Denver was the Hall of Fames' initial inductee, was honoured with this honor in 2011. Denver is today the international face of Colorado. Certainly in my travels you come across someone on the opposite part of the globe, one from New Zealand and you say 'I'm originally from Colorado and the first thing out of their mouth is Oh John Denver! Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief time with folk bands which was Denver's first Top 10 solo hit. Danoff composed the song in the name of Johnny Cash but Denver recognized the potential of the single when he first heard it. Danoff recorded the track only a few days afterward when he performed it in front of an enthusiastic audience at Washington D.C.
